Course Description
Try Before You Buy. Two hours of one on one instruction and test shooting. Students will be allowed to try several revolvers and pistols from different manufacturers and in different calibers. A great way to test different guns and assess what works best for you before spending your money! Fee $100 plus $20 range fee for non-members.
Winter handgun March 13, 2016
This class will expose students to the elements allowing them to test their skills with and without gloves and using heavy cover garments. In addition we’ll have a bunch of fun. Attendees can expect standard drills, including shooting and moving and speed and accuracy tests.

NRA Basic Pistol, Peterborough Sportsmen’s Club, Dublin, NH $100 plus $20 range fee for non-members. Short Description : Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. More Details: This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
Defensive Pistol 1 This course will provide students key fundamentals from which to build upon. Students will learn how to safely present their firearm from a holster and engage targets at distances up to 15 yards. Topics covered:
- Safety / muzzle discipline
- Presentations from holster
- Ready positions (compressed and low ready)
- Presentations to the left, to the right and to the rear
- Speed and tactical reloads
- Verbal commands
- Targets engaged from 3, 5, 7, 10 and 15 yards.
Items needed for class:
- Ear protection / eye protection
- Serviceable handgun (revolver or semi-auto pistol). Minimum caliber 9 mm or .38 special or larger
- 350- 400 rounds of ammunition (more is better). Note: 9mm ammo is available for sale
- Strong sided belt holster (hard formed leather or Kydex holster preferred) and magazine pouches
- Strong belt
- Three magazines, or speed loaders
- Water, snacks and or refreshments
- Back up side arm (guns break so you may wish to bring an extra firearm).
- Comfortable clothing

Defensive Pistol / Carbine Short Description: One full day of intense training. Defensive carbine / pistol class will provide the attendee the fundamental skills, process methodology and foundation for using both carbines and pistols for self-defense. Class length 8 hours. Prerequisite: This class is appropriate for intermediate level shooters. Prerequisite: students who participate must have completed a class with On Target Training, LLC or show other documentation supporting their experience and abilities. More Details: This class will provide students information on benefits and limitations of pistol platforms and carbine platforms and their applications for self-defense. Students will learn aspects of safety, marksmanship, and transitions between Carbine and their side arm. Students will be exposed to the following information and will practice and gain experience with:
- Presentations from holster
- Ready positions for pistol and carbine
- Close quarters battle (QCB) techniques.
- Transitions from carbine too pistol.
- Pros and cons of both platforms.
- Hold over or offset for shooting carbines at short distances.
- Discussion of red dot optics or scopes for defensive applications
Required items for class: Serviceable Pistol in 9 mm or larger, Strong sided belt holster, magazine pouch, Three magazines for pistol, 200 rounds of pistol ammunition. Carbine in .556, .308, .7 62X 39 or other. Tactical sling for Carbine, Three magazines for Carbine, 500+ rounds of centerfire rifle ammunition.
Introduction to the AK-47 platform carbine for self-defense
This class is being offered to qualified individuals seeking to enhance their skills with an AK pattern carbine. Students will have the opportunity to shoot a significant number of rounds (500+) while developing speed, accuracy and situational awareness. Students will be challenged with stress testing including par times and multiple target scenarios. Students will discuss and learn about the benefits of the AK 47 carbine as a self / home defense tool and other topics such as lights, slings, red dot optics and scopes.

Students will be challenged with stress testing including par times and multiple target scenarios. AR and AK platform rifles are appropriate for this class. Students will discuss and learn about the benefits of a carbine as a self / home defense tool and other topics such as lights, slings, red dot optics and scopes.

PERSONAL (AND HOME) PROTECTION WITH HANDGUNS -NEW Class
This 8 hour class will cover important topics of personal protection inside and outside of the home. Topics will include:
- Planning (having a plan is the first step)
- Practicing the plan (who, what, where, when and how)
- Move-hide-fight concepts of self defense
- Decision making process for the fight
- Post-Fight Plan
- Why getting away from the threat may be your best tactic
- Safe rooms
- Fields of Fire
- 911 Call Plan
- Home defensive handgun options
Students will experience a dynamic environment focused on experiential learning (learning by doing). This will include classroom lecture, group discussion, Airsoft simulated force on force and several hours of live fire drills. Estimated life fire round count 350 rounds.
