You’re in a bad situation and there is someone who seemingly is going to do you harm. What’s the next step? My basic tactical approach defaults to: Run (move away), Hide and Fight. The fight is always the last option. At On Target Training, we encourage students to egress (het away if possible) versus engaging a threat. There are many reasons for this. These include moral, tactical and financial implications of engaging in a fight. I’m interested in hearing your perspectives on your thought process and planning around and armed encounter. Would run, hide, fight be your standard choice?
